Our golf group of 16 – 24 golfers tees off starting at 9:00 AM at Diablo Hills Golf Course. The golfers can setup their tee times on the SIR Branch 8 Website. The Starter of the Month checks everyone in, insures the foursomes are setup and ready to go and designates the fun event for the day ie closest to the pin on a specific hole or fewest putts for the round, etc.
After the round, the golfers meet in the Greenery Restaurant at the course for a refreshment and or a bite, exchange golf “stories” or whatever topics pop up and the winner of the “fun event” gets to pick a gift from the “prize box”. We will post details of weekly play see the play results page and other areas of interest here on the website and in the monthly Hotline.
Additionally the group has two annual events:
The Club Championship Tournament and Dinner. This event is kicked off with putting contest and includes winners for longest drive, closest to the pin, low gross and low net individual scores and low gross and low net team scores;
The Don Atwater Golf Tournament and Dinner (33rd annual in 2020). This great tournament is open to members and guests, includes a putting contest, and includes winners (men and women) for longest drive, closest to the pin, low gross and low net individual scores and low gross and low net team scores.
