Yes, it’s that time again. NCGA dues are now being collected for the 2014 year and we are happy to report that your cost will only be $50. Your check, made out to “SIR BRANCH 8 GOLF”, can be mailed to: Gordon Batesole, 1023 Hill Meadow Pl., Danville, 94526, or perhaps you would like to bring it to our NEXT luncheon and save a stamp!
You may not have heard that SIR is now allowing spouses, etc., to get their NCGA handicaps through our Branch. However, this offer does not allow participation in regular Branch 8 tournaments except for various SIR State level tournaments where separate tournaments for ladies are included. Your Golf Committee is busy planning for an exciting year of golf activities during 2014. Your favorite courses have been selected and the schedule planned with new participation opportunities for your non-SIR friends. Additionally, we are working on having selected pros at Boundary Oak provide short monthly clinics (15 minutes) before we start play that focus on a refreshment of basic fundamentals. If you don’t think this applies to you make sure you attend at least one of these clinics. You will be surprised at how much you don’t know or have forgotten! It is a fact; playing better golf is more fun.
If you are not using our on line sign-up for getting weekly tee times, and have a computer with internet access, we would like to encourage you to do so and will help you get started. Generally, earlier tee times are available rather than waiting for luncheon meetings to manually sign up. You may also sign up other members of your foursome if you like. Please call any golf committee member who will be happy to assist you.
